"Cancelled surgery"

I was diagnosed with stage 2 prostate cancer earlier this year. Was seeing a urologist who booked me in for a radical prostatectomy at Tamworth base hospital for Oct.  The day before the pre-op appointment it was cancelled as the urologist had resigned from the public health system and is now only doing private. I was referred on to another urologist and booked in to have it done on in January 2023. It was then postponed till the February 2023.

I was supposed to go to my pre-op appointment but the hospital rang to say its been cancelled.  Rang the urologist who is blaming the hospital for cancelling it. Rang the hospital back to be told its the urologist fault.

Asked the hospital why they hadn't contacted us to let us know it had been cancelled and was told to fill in a complaint form. The distress this has caused me and my partner is a understatement.  So in conclusion I've had a cancer diagnosis and no treatment for 8 months and no reasonable answer or any answer as to why.
