"Positive D&C a experience at BHH"

I just wanted to share the positive experience I had at Box Hill Hospital through what could’ve been a really traumatic time. I experienced a missed miscarriage at 8 weeks which resulted in a D&C. I had read of some bad experiences of this process on this page however what I experienced was the complete opposite.

All of the staff who dealt with my situation from the sonographers, to the nurses, doctors and surgeons treated me with nothing but compassion and empathy in every single interaction. Communication was always prompt and clear. I truly felt well looked after at all times and that my needs and desires for my chosen management strategy were listened to and supported. My discharge was really thorough and I was told they would to continue to provide support if needed. Lucky for me my recovery has been really smooth, but I still really appreciated the follow up call I received from a nurse.

My in laws are all invested only in private health but I will always be the biggest advocate for public health because of the fabulous service you continue to provide me and my family. I had a successful and memorable experience birthing my first born at BHH last year and am looking forward to finishing my family in your care hopefully in the not so distant future. Thank you for the professionalism and high quality level of care you continue to provide time and time again.
