About: Kununurra Hospital

(as a carer),

My late partner had to be viewed and buried in a hospital gown as Kununurra Hospital did not give the undertaker the clothes I dropped off and had dry cleaned for their viewing. I feel Kununurra Hospital treated my relative  unfairly and would not allow a viewing claiming hospital policy prevented it. Was this just gatekeeping? It was extremely distressing for my in-laws to have this happen.

Dear CommunityServices,

We wish to extend our condolences to yourself and your family members on the loss of your partner.

We recognise that both yourself and your family are going through a very painful time and I am so sorry that your partner was not viewed in the clothes that you had provided.

To allow us to assist you with your concerns could you please contact myself, Pattie Scott – East Kimberley Operations Manager on either 9166 4242 or by email on patricia.scott@health.wa.gov.au so that we can discuss your situation and ensure that this doesn’t happen to anyone else.

I do hope that you will reach out to me. We not only want to support other families during their grief, but it is so important that you and your family are supported in the coming weeks and months

Kind Regards,

Pattie Scott
