"Giving birth with MGP"

About: King Edward Memorial Hospital / Maternity

(as the patient),

Recently I have birth to our daughter at King Edward Memorial hospital. During my pregnancy I was looked after by the Midwife Group Practice, which meant I was looked after by the same midwife or someone from a small team, if my midwife was unavailable. Throughout the pregnancy I felt very well looked after and really enjoyed the level of care, I wasn't overwhelmed with appointments but still felt very supported.

My birth wasn't very smooth as my body didn't produced unexpected results. I was in hospital for a total of 6 days and was very well taken care of, by MGP and the midwives on the ward at the hospital. I have only great things to say about the care I was provided and would return/recommend.

Dear papatb48,

Congratulations on the birth of your daughter and thank you for taking the time to share your experience with King Edward Memorial Hospital during what must be a wonderful and exciting but busy time for you and your family.

I am pleased to hear that you had such a positive experience with our MGP program. We are extremely proud of our staff who strive to provide our patients and their families with the support to achieve positive outcomes during their pregnancy journey, particularly when birthing plans change unexpectedly, as experienced by yourself.

It is pleasing to hear that both the MGP and ward midwifery teams were able to provide you with the level of care you needed, and you felt supported throughout your pregnancy and birth of your daughter.

Once again, congratulations on the arrival of your baby daughter – I wish you and your family all the best for the future.
