Prior to having my baby we were left alone for hours on end , I didn’t get to a birthing suite till late evening after being at the hospital at dawn that day. I recall no one really checked on me and my partner kept repeating the val on the gas machine isn’t working . In the evening the midwife comes on and says I need to walk to the birthing suite I warned them I’m going to vomit , sadly they didn’t listen and I vomited on them.
After I had my baby at Osborne Park Hospital, the treatment I received while in hospital was horrible and traumatic. It seemed we were only told of higher pain medication when I was discharged, the midwives who checked on me I felt were angry and inpatient. The night I had my baby via forcep delivery I was told I need to start walking despite being told I needed an iron and blood infusion. So I did and fell on the ground in tears from pain. I was told I need to grab my baby when they cried but couldn’t as I couldn’t feel my legs. The next morning I felt the lactation nurse have a go at me for struggling with breast feeding. So I demanded that day I want to go home that day , as I would rather be miserable at home in pain than rather deal with what I believe were passive aggressive midwives. Based on my experience, I would never recommend this hospital for pregnant women.
