"Kidney stones"

About: Margaret River Hospital / Emergency Department

(as a service user),

I fronted ED probably one of the busiest days of the year in Margaret river recently, I walked in and thought a bomb had hit the place, it reminded me of a battlefield.

I was tremendous pain and thought to myself there is no way I’m getting into ED today, I’m going to have to pass out first.

I fronted the receptionist told her my problem , she immediately buzzed me through, I couldn’t believe it.

Upon lying on the bed the cool, calm doctor introduced himself, I was in so much pain  , this guy was under so much pressure, immediately took control and the whole staff sprang into action ,so quick ,so professional, so polite,

Finally after 6 long hours they got my pain under control and sent me to another hospital for scans which I was told 4 mm stone playing havoc with my kidneys.

I then returned to Margaret river hospital for the night where I was completely looked after again, until I was let go in the morning.

Once again this hospital ( Margaret river ) has been outstanding. Kidney stones are a terrible thing to have , the staff every time have addressed pain management with the utmost importance and priority .

Thanks so much margs hospital, I wish I didn’t have to make your life so hard , but at the same time I’m glad your in my town and looking after us xxxx

Dear redpr75,

Thanks so much for taking the time to send us positive feedback in regards to the services and care you received at Margaret River Hospital.

Attending an Emergency Department can be a very daunting experience, especially on the busiest day of the year and I was delighted to hear about the support, empathy and efficiency in the delivery of care that you have received and that staff delivered it in a positive and professional manner.

I will gladly provide your feedback to the ED, ward and nursing staff in particular. It is a pleasure to hear your experience was so positive and important that the hard work and effort of staff is recognised.

I do hope that you are on the road to recovery and I wish you all the very best for the future.

Yours sincerely

Sandy Znidarsich
