"Excellent care"

About: Bunbury Hospital / Emergency Department Bunbury Hospital / Sub-Acute Ward

(as a relative),

My brother visiting from Ireland became unwell and visited Bunbury Hospital Emergency Department. He was seen by the triage nurse Catherine  within a couple of minutes and processed by the clerk.

He was seen by Doctor Thor who took a full history, performed blood tests and arranged treatment. Hannah the nurse was very professional and quickly commenced the treatment needed.

He was admitted to the short stay unit and had excellent care provided by Lee and TJ the nurses. He was seen by the surgical team, medical team and the ICU registrar. The following day he was transferred to the sub acute ward where the care was also excellent.

His doctor a locum Dr S explained everything that was happening and my brother was able to understand what was going on in his body. The multidisciplinary approach to his care was outstanding. He was seen by the physio, stoma nurses and dietitian. In all he spent 8 days in Bunbury Hospital and was discharged feeling much better. He would like to pass on his thanks to you all.

Dear aquilatc64,

It was very special today to start the week with this wonderful feedback regarding your brother’s recent visit to the Bunbury Hospital Emergency Department and subsequent ward admission.

It is gratifying to hear that the experience for your brother exemplifies what our teams strive to achieve daily by providing multidisciplinary co- ordinated care.

All the teams will be delighted to receive your feedback and acknowledgment that the collective input by multiple health care workers across the hospital contributed to a good recovery and positive experience for your brother.

Thank you for taking the time to share his experience and we trust he is continuing to do well in his recovery and getting the opportunity to enjoy this lovely part of WA during his visit.

Yours Sincerely

Denise Clement
