"Grandparent's care (or lack there of)"

About: Albany Health Campus / Emergency Department

(as a relative),

My grandparent was admitted to ARHC because of Covid and a heart attack. During the time they were there none of the tests they said they were going to do were done and no one was giving any information to my family regarding my grandparent's condition and when we did call to ask what’s happening, we felt the staff were rude and abrupt or didn’t provide any information at all.

I don’t know what has happened to the duty of care but we were being denied entry without any explanation and I believe care was not being properly provided. Really disappointed.

Dear infomsn2000,

I am sorry to hear you were disappointed in the care your grandparent received. This must have been incredibly stressful for you and your family. We have worked hard to balance the care of our COVID positive patients and their need for isolation, with the needs of relatives for information about the care being given, and it appears on this occasion we have not met your needs. I would love the opportunity to explore your experience with us further and would welcome contact with you on the number below.

Thank you for taking the time to let us know of your issue,

Kind regards

Janine Watts
