Original hip replacement surgery as a public patient was at SJOG Midland Perth WA and done by a great Orthopedic surgeon David. Surgery went well and I was progressing well with Physio therapy in hospital and at home under the guidance of Grace from SJOG Midland

Physio therapy. The whole team were great.

16 days post-surgery my new hip prosthesis badly dislocated in the early hours of the morning which was quite painful and immobilizing. I was transported by ambulance to the SJOG Midland ER. What I can remember after being well medicated the staff and especially Dr Jenny who was in control of my pain were all fantastic and tried so very hard several times without success to fix the dislocation.

Thank you for your kind words about the care provided at our hospital. It was fantastic to hear your surgery went well and you received the appropriate after care in your home. We were however very sorry that your prosthesis dislocated 16 days later and you needed to return to our hospital. Understandably this would have been both distressing and painful, although it sounds as though Emergency Department staff took good care of you and we will pass your compliment to Dr Jenny. Once again thank you for letting us know about your experience and l trust you have been followed up by your orthopaedic surgeon and made a full recovery following the dislocation.
