"Prescription decisions do not meet my needs"

About: Osborne Park Community Mental Health

(as the patient),

I believe a doctor instructed the pharmacist to dispense my meds in a Webster pack, and didn't even mention it to me.

When I asked for a script for my nightly dose of 30mg medication it seemed they prescribed 15mg tablets instead, I felt with no consideration of my dysphagia, or the financial cost of the additional tablets.

I feel invalidated and excluded from the decision making process.

Thank you for your feedback via the Care Opinion platform. I am sorry to hear that you felt invalidated and not involved in the instructions to the pharmacist while receiving care at the Osborne Park Community Mental Health service. I have reminded staff at the service of the importance of including consumers in the discussions regarding the dispensing and dosage of medication, including the provision of medication information sheets, where available. At your next appointment I encourage you to discuss your concerns in relation to the communication and prescribing matters that you have raised. Alternatively, please contact our Consumer Liaison Service on 6159 6358 who can contact the treating team directly on your behalf.
