"Trip to ED Margaret River for daughter"

About: Margaret River Hospital / Emergency Department

(as a parent/guardian),

My 8 year old daughter injured herself at school with a suspected broken arm. I took her straight to Emergency. The staff were fantastic. Right from reception, through to triage and then radiography, everyone I dealt with was kind, compassionate and explained everything really clearly for myself and my daughter. Even the radiographer showed her the x ray and where the fracture is on the screen. Miss 8 was most impressed. The nurses demonstrated to Miss 8 how to use the brace and adjust it and gave instructions for use and at home care. This was so thoughtful as I couldn't remember everything. All up, we were in and out within 90 minutes. Fantastic team and care. Thanks so much.

Dear novembersy73

Thank you for taking the time to share your story on Care opinion.

It is wonderful to hear that our staff deliver care in a caring and compassionate manner and that "Miss 8" was impressed! Treating children can sometimes be challenging, I loved hearing that your daughter was included in her treatment and aftercare.

The team will be thrilled to read your story and I will take great pleasure in sharing it with them.

I hope that she is recovering well (and you!) and I will wish you all the best for the future.

Kind regards

Marie Tweedie
