"I've been asked to quit my group therapy"

About: Osborne Park Community Mental Health

(as a service user),

As I understand it, my therapist wants me to quit my group therapy.

I feel excluded, because they're meeting someone else's 'need' ahead of my disability need.

The other person wants all doors and windows open, for COVID safety.

I want them closed so that my hearing aids do not have to relay background traffic noise as well as group content - it's a big room and the facilitators are softly spoken so I still have to strain my ears to hear with my hearing aids at full volume.

Dear liberatortx89,

Thank you for your feedback via the Care Opinion platform. I am sorry to hear that you felt excluded from the Group Program and that your hearing impairment issues were not taken into consideration. I understand that the DBT treating team have now made contact with you in regards to your suitability to the Group Program and individual therapy sessions. As a health service we continue to look at ways of improving how we deliver services and so thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us.

Kind regards

Dr Theresa Marshall

I feel my individual therapist is not being therapeutic, at this point in time.
