After DCJ became involved with my family, i was told I needed to find a residential rehab service, Lives Lived Well (Elouera) in Orange NSW was the only program available that i could attend and have my 2 youngest children with me, that suited us. We travelled from Sydney to be part of the program, we did not fit the "criteria" for any other programs available that allow mothers to stay with their children.
We were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived, while I attended groups to better my parenting skills, social, health and emotional wellbeing my children were in the capable hands of early childhood development workers in an on site day care facility.
We found staff to be caring, understanding, helpful and supportive through out our stay but most of all I have found them to be accommodating of our individual needs.
I have attended parenting groups which have been very beneficial to my recovery and helping me to become a better mum to my children.
All the staff treat every-one as individuals and never make judgments every one at Elouera are treated equal with out their help and guidance I really don't know where I would be at this time and if I would still have my children
