We recently birthed our child through the mgp program in southwest Wa . From start to finish we were blown away by the level of support we received. We had lots of meetings preparing us in the lead up, which calmed our anxiety with quality information, compassion to what we were feeling.
We had a few unforeseen complications in the journey to and after birthing but throughout this process our student midwife Olivia ( who is wise beyond her years and had a beautiful calm energy and who we hope has a long career in front of her and is truly passionate about midwifery and homebirth ) and Tiffany ( who was our rock and inspirational in the care she had for our well being and that of unborn son, as well as the impressive knowledge base she has and embodies so well.)
Things did not go to plan as we had to deliver in hospital and had a shoulder dystocia during the birth. We also had problems with lactation and mastitis after birthing. This was distressing , but having these two out team helped us navigate these challenges with as much ease and grace as the situation allowed
