I have been receiving regular inpatient treatments for my severe chronic nerve pain at the Royal Hospital for Women since 2021.
Having spent a lot of time in hospital growing up and having many negative experiences, I was initially very nervous about having to stay for up to 7 nights per admission and multiple admissions every year. However, I have been so delighted and moved by the quality of care from the nurses and other staff in the Macquarie Ward. I’ve been dealing with this pain condition for nearly all my life, and being able to receive treatment in such a supportive environment has been truly life-changing.
While the treatments themselves are sometimes scary or unpleasant, thanks to the atmosphere cultivated by the beautiful nursing and support staff, I’ve had only positive experiences in Macquarie Ward.
Special thanks to Doctors Jason, Chris, Anna, and Emer, and to all the nurses including Freya, Mary, Lily, Syama, Gemma, Lily, Felicity, Jodie, Hee, Rosie, Erin, Liz, Amiee, Emily, Crystal, and everyone else! My quality of life has improved so much since becoming a patient here. Thank you!
