I was discharged from FSH after colonic surgery and an ileostomy. It's nearly 2 months ago and in that time I've lost count of the amount of times I've sung the praises of FSH and, in particular, Ward 7B and I'm finally getting around to writing this.
I was in there for a week and the level and standard of care was sensational. I would often thank someone for what they may have done and the usual response is that they are just doing their job. That's right but what they're not saying is that they are doing their job with grace and good humour. They also don't say they are under extreme resourcing pressure.
One of the really nice things for me was the way that senior staff are training and mentoring others. This was also done with good grace despite the obvious work pressures.
I'm going to FSH for an appointment and will finally get the chance to deliver the long-promised and well deserved chocolates and, hopefully, see some familiar friendly faces.
Yours sincerely -happypj
