"The day I went to rehab"

About: Lives Lived Well – Watershed Residential Service (Wollongong)

(as the patient),

After finally admitting I needed rehab and being told I had a bed at watershed I was nervous as hell, worried about giving up everything I knew. The morning of rehab my mum picked me up and I was anxious, nervous and very much under the influence of drugs. As we pulled up to the rehab I jumped out mum told me how proud she was and I felt a little bit emotional as I walked up the driveway. I done my intake was introduced around the house and to the other people and staff in rehab and for the next 4 weeks was probably the best 4 weeks of my life. I laughed, I found myself again I made great friends and great memories, great strategies.

Hi scorpiusxr53 Thank you for taking the time to share your story. Having only just recently visited Watershed, I know that driveway that you speak of - so reading what you write I can feel a little of that anxiety that you talk of. But you did it, and it is so good to hear that those 4 weeks have had such an impact on you.

It takes courage to step into a Residential Rehab Service, to get vulnerable and work on the things that you want to change and talk openly with our staff to gain the skills and tools for your future life.

Keep going on your journey, take what you have learnt and put it into every day life, Always know that Lives Lived Well will be here for you if you need additional support. Well done!!!!!

-Craig
