"Paediatric procedures"

About: I-MED Radiology Network - Traralgon

(as a parent/guardian),

Abysmal, in my opinion- Followed the process as advised by IMED Traralgon hospital, to book my teenage child in for their lumbar puncture. Advised it would be reviewed by the interventional team and then booking would be made.

Booking made, for my child to be reviewed by GP, organised oral sedation for them through the GP, got the pathology testing needed (my child is very apprehensive about needles and procedures). The afternoon prior to the appointment, I get a text message stating "please call IMED about issues with [name] appointment". I call, they state they can't do the procedure as my child is paediatric. I spoke with the interventional radiologist- I questioned why my child had been put through unnecessary procedures, and stress, and why the team two weeks prior didn't know they don't do paediatric procedures.

Absolutely dumbfounded that they didn't seem to know their own processes, and my child had to go through this unnecessarily.
