Admitted via ambulance with bowel obstruction to Busselton ED - I felt the ambulance officers were amazing could not fault their exceptional standard of care. I found the ED Medical Officers and RN’s were outstanding. I felt I could not have wished for better care.
I needed a NGT and after a try the RN went straight to the MO and asked him to insert it as she didn’t want to cause me any more distress, such compassion was appreciated as I was very unwell.
I ended up being transferred to Bunbury Hospital not a private hospital even though I am private as apparently they don’t have acute patients admitted there! I wished I could have remained in Busselton Hospital, hopefully acute surgical teams will be soon available and such transfers not required. I say this because I felt my nursing care once there was at times questionable.
I was admitted to Bunbury and need to say huge thanks to RN Laura in ED plus surgical medical officers who were excellent. Once on the surgical ward I was managed exceptionally well by RN Jen and the night RN whom I have missed her name. There were issues with my care which I have logged in my hospital feedback. I received a very prompt phone call from the discharge nurse enduring that I understood my recovery plan.
