"High risk clinic"

About: Bunbury Hospital / Maternity

(as the patient),

I recently saw the high risk clinic at Bunbury hospital. My appointment was booked for 3.30 but I didnt get seen until well after that. I have a toddler who was running around and I was trying to occupy, and that I was worried would be bothering others waiting.

A lovely midwife gave him and another child in the waiting room a balloon, something that you think is so small but wow, what a difference to my life that made. This midwife also made me a cup of tea while I waited and I saw her get others cups of water.

I would like to thank the midwife for keeping everyone aware that they had not been forgotten, and acknowledging our wait. It really made such a difference to my afternoon and I was not stressed or worried and felt like I went into my doctor appointment (who had red hair and was really nice!) feeling happy as I had a happy toddler chasing a balloon and a lovely cup of tea. It seems something so little but it really meant a lot to me. Please pass on my thanks to the midwife (she had glasses on and red hair to) for my cup of tea and balloon.

Dear sierradj48,

Thankyou for taking the time to share your experience with our Antenatal clinic through care opinion. My apologies that you experienced a wait for your appointment. However I am very pleased that Courtney (the midwife) was able to assist in ensuring you were informed around the delay and making you feel as comfortable as possible. As you say it is so often the littlest things that make the biggest difference and we truly aim to provide the highest level of compassion and care while you are utilising our services.

I have provided your feedback through to Courtney and the Doctor. They were both grateful to receive your lovely comments, and Courtney is really pleased your son enjoyed the balloon.

I wish you well for the remaining of your pregnancy and birth journey.

Kind regards,

Katrina Jones
