My son went in for an operation earlier this month at the Sydney Hand and Eye Hospital. He got discharged two days later. I was allowed to stay with him at the hospital while he was there.
All the staff we saw, from the Drs to the nurses, cleaners and the people who delivered our food were absolutely amazing. I got all meals while I was there I was allowed to shower. Nothing was to hard for them. I was made to feel so comfortable.
The nurses we saw were amazing with my son.
I have never felt so welcome at a hospital ever. Every single person we saw was amazing.
I would just like to make a special mention about an amazing nurse Kay .
I have never met a nurse that goes out of her way to make a hospital stay easy. My son is so scared of hospitals to the point were he was having massive panic attacks. Kay made sure I was allowed to stay with him, she got me parking while we were there. I was allowed to go to the recovery room with him. She was even in a meeting but when my son went into recovery she came and got me. My son was 1st there in 2019 for his operations and Kay has been with him for the last 4 yrs making sure he is ok. It took a lot for my son to get this operation as he is petrified of hospital but Kay was there the whole way with him. I can't thank you enough Kay you are an amazing person and I think you are a credit to the hospital. I feel they are so lucky to have such a beautiful person working for them. You are a superstar and my son and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We absolutely love you.
