"Medical Care in Emergency"

About: Royal Perth Hospital / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

I was taken to RPH Emergency by ambulance for ongoing chest pain. From the short time I was there, I could not fault the treatment, attitudes and care of all hospital staff I saw. From the medical student to the registrars and nursing staff, everyone I saw was respectful, kind and compassionate. They listened to my concerns and did not judge me. And they respected my wishes when asked not to put an IV in a certain place.

Dear ophiuchustb83

It was lovely to start the day reading of your recent experience in the Emergency Department at Royal Perth Hospital (RPH) detailing how staff were respectful, caring and compassionate. This assures me that staff at RPH are continually striving to provide high quality, patient-centred care and I will take great pleasure in passing on your congratulations to all those involved in your care.

I feel very fortunate to work with such dedicated and exceptional people and it’s wonderful to read stories like yours on Care Opinion, that recognises the contribution they make to ensuring your visit to us was as comfortable as possible. Thank you for taking the time to share your story.

Wishing you all the very best with your future healthcare needs.

Kind regards

Dr Lesley Bennett
