About: Lives Lived Well

(as the patient),

I wa a very down and out traumatised person who had no idea how deep my trauma was , my drinking and drug use was  ridiculous I  had lost  everything and was close to being on the streets . I went to rehab for a long time and came out clean and sober slowly I got life back together , one of the most important things that I’d lost was  my Nursing Registration and I thought I’d never get that back , when I finally did I needed a counsellor to able to check in with regularly as a part of the conditions of my registration I found Lives lived Well , I feel my councillor Nicola has been wonderful not only did she help me maintain my registration open she helped guide me through difficult moments when my new trauma came up .

Thanks very much Nicola and Lives Lived Well for a job well done !

Dear homampt76,

Thank you for sharing your story. Often it takes something major to seek help and it sounds like the possibility of homelessness was that for you. It is good to read that you participated in long term rehabilitation and worked on addressing your trauma. It would not have been easy, and you should commend yourself.

Finding support at Lives Lived Well to maintain your nursing registration sounds like it has kept you on track. Well done. We believe that with the right tools people can change their lives; and you are testament to that.

Congratulate yourself, keep working on the strategies you have in place and enjoy 'giving back' in your incredibly important role as a nurse.

Keep it up.

Regards,

Lara
