My Husband and Son and Daughters' Father after several years of life threatening health issues, has been cared for at the Pemberton Hospital.
Just over 2 years ago, he was given a short life expectancy, and as a family chose to have him here in home care where he loves his trees, birds and kangaroos..
He has astounded us all.
Our much respected General Practitioner here in Pemberton Dr Lukas has attended to my husband as his Physician for the past approx 15 years and has been a huge support to him, medically, emotionally and mentally. I feel, this of course has flowed on to us, his family.
I feel Dr Lukas, has been instrumental in my husband being approved to the Aged Care Unit at the Pemberton Hospital, as we can no longer provide 24/7 care at home due to his medical health issues. For this we are eternally gratefully.
Also to RN Kathy, with whom we have been liaising. My husband has been in hospital for approx 8 weeks, and was transitioned from respite care to his new room, where he feels 'very happy' and what a 'very nice room' ..and as he is very familiar with hospital and some of the nurses, he feels safe and secure in his new home. My husband is familiar with the hospital, as he has had occasions where he has been receiving treatment over the years. Making this transition smooth for him
We are so very grateful to all concerned who helped facilitate my husband's move into Aged Care in the hospital, as he is only 10 minutes from home and we can visit regularly, as can his friends here. Family is still some 4 hours away, but are planning weekends to visit.
A word about the professional care physically for my husband, emotional support, empathy and compassion all the nurses and staff afford my husband and our family. I feel they are always ready to talk about his welfare, ready to answer our questions and include us and my husband in choices for him...this is so encouraging and welcome.
Prior to my husband's latest health scare and admission to Bunbury ED and then to Pemberton Hospital for ongoing care, I feel my husband's Health Provider Silver Chain has been greatly supportive with the personal care services and equipment required Silver Chain, and thank Carla and her cares during the time this has been required.
My husband has been monitored and cared for by The Warren Health Services Palliative Care and Cancer Resources over several years, I feel it's been amazing to have such professional and genuine caring health professional oversee his care and again, flowing onto us his family....We have formed a close bond over the years with Evelyn and Sam they have helped us enormously in dealing with my husband's ongoing care. They continue to be supportive to us still, and only a phone call away, or drop in for a visit to see how we are faring and have a chat, and continue to visit my husband in hospital.
On behalf of myself, Son and Daughter and Grand Children, we are forever grateful that my husband's every need is being met, with I feel genuine care, empathy, compassion, concern and humour. I feel it 's always so healing to have laughter in our lives
We continue uphold all who have undertaken to care for all his needs, and are most grateful.
With kind regards
trapperbh38 and family
