"Rehab"

About: Kilcoy Hospital

(as the patient),

I was sent to Kilcoy from another hospital after two weeks there for rehab to make me stronger after I had confusion problems. I asked most days when am I going to get some rehab but I recall all they said was you are using your wheely walker that's good enough. I argued that I was suppose to get some strengthening exercises as I had lost a lot of muscle strength but to no avail. I felt I was just taking up a bed even though they were checking up on my ammonia levels. I was getting a bit stressed and hid it well.

I had a iron infusion while there so I felt there wasn't really much point being there for three weeks and did nothing to help me. I walked a lot on my own, also the transition care program was not put in place before I left and I was told I was to be discharged on so I waited for someone to contact me. The next day came around and still no help.

The following day came and  staff from the post acute care came and saw me and went through some exercises and told me that I had missed out on the transition package as I was discharged before it was in place but noone rang and told me. I felt really let down after signing all the paperwork and really had to keep it all together in my brain. I do not want to suffer another episode. Could someone please explain why I didn't get any rehab?
