"Geraldton ED care"

About: Geraldton Hospital / Emergency Department

(as a parent/guardian),

I presented with my teenage daughter at night recently to Geraldton Ed. She was in quite a bit of pain in her leg and back and she was struggling to walk. She was seen very quickly by the triage nurse who was lovely by the way and then the Doctor who was so great at communicating with myself and my daughter throughout her assessment. He did some tests etc and explained her issue very well and made a plan with us for her follow up treatment. Id like to thank him for his manner with my daughter who was quite stressed at the time. I cant recall his name but he was a really tall man with a black beard and accent. Thank you Geraldton ED, I feel we are lucky to have you working for our community.

Dear caredfor2828,

Thank you for taking the time to share your story on Care Opinion.

I was so pleased to read about the excellent care provided to your daughter during her presentation. Good communication is so important in ensuring consumers feel reassured during these stressful experiences.

The care you describe is exactly what the Geraldton Hospital strives to achieve, and I will certainly acknowledge the ED Team and the doctors commitment to provide safe, high quality care to our Midwest community.

I hope your daughter is recovering well and thank you again for sharing your story.

Kind regards

Derek Fraser
