About: St George Hospital / Emergency Department

(as a parent/guardian),

Went into Dr George Hospital Emergency Department recently.

Was shocked at the way the doctor comes out in the waiting room and discusses our issue with seemingly everyone else listening in. We could hear everyone else medical complaint as well as I believe other people could hear our medical issue. I felt there was no privacy what so ever. The wait was extremely long but I cannot fault the doctor for that as they are extremely busy, just don't like that they discuss your medical problem in the waiting room with everyone listening. I felt there was a lack of privacy.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your recent experience at St George Hospital Emergency Department (ED).

Emergency Departments can be very busy places at times, particularly during peak presentation times, and regrettably this can lead to longer than usual wait times. I sincerely apologise for any distress this delay may have caused.

Our patient’s privacy is of the upmost importance to us at St George Hospital. Our ED doctors strive to preserve our patient’s privacy at all times while facilitating patient care in a timely manner. I regret that on this occasion we did not meet your expectations.

Your feedback has been provided to the ED Nurse Manager & Head of Department for follow up - it is invaluable to inform the ways in which we can improve the care we provide to our patients.
