I had to come into the reception at Community Health building to return my pats form of my husband I am his carer. When I picked it up a few weeks ago before our appointment the receptionist was quite frosty and would not give much other assistance other than saying take this form and ring this number on the card if you need help.
This day was a very different experience it was a busy day I could see that with many people I think in for their flu jabs and Covid maybe that was reassuring to see for sure. I spoke to a really caring lady today her name tag said Amanda. Even as I had just saw her being yelled at by someone over something or other when it came time to serve me she just smiled and acted like nothing had just happened. She then explained how my claim would be reimbursed, but she also told me what we are entitled to claim for. She went through everything including accommodation, fuel assistance in advance if required and as my husband's condition will continue to deteriorate how we can apply to have flights. The regular trips to Perth have been very hard and my husband is refusing some of them because it’s too hard for him. She just listened to me asked if I was ok because she said I was just as important as him! I now feel much more confident in claiming pats and knowing I do not have to come in I can ring her or pats and email any paperwork in instead and we don’t even have to see the GP anymore. Fantastic. All in all 10/10 experience today compared to previous visits and why I felt I should make the effort to let her know how grateful I am she cared. Thank you Amanda
"Excellent care"
