"Cancer support for country patient"

About: Busselton Cancer Services Clinic

(as a carer),

Immediately after my husband was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year he was contacted by Kim, a SW Rural Cancer Nurse who has provided excellent information and support through various surgeries, and now 6 months of chemotherapy. Knowing the CN is only a phonecall away is very reassuring, often filling the gap between information received from various other practitioners involved, and the ability to retain, understand and apply such a breadth of detail in ongoing stressful and exhausting circumstances. Kim has also made arrangements for us and pointed us to services that we were unaware of. As my husband's carer I have found Kim's personable and upbeat disposition along with her professionalism and extensive nursing experience invaluable, contributing to more positive health outcomes, both physically and psychologically.

This service is of immense value to cancer patients and their carers throughout country WA.

Thank you!

Dear Supported Carer SW WA

Thankyou so much for taking the time to give us this great feedback about the care your received from our WACHS-SW Busselton Cancer Clinical Nurse Kim. We have shared your story with her and she was delighted to hear that you and your husband really appreciated her professional support and guidance through your cancer journey. I agree Kim's personable and upbeat demeanour helps patients and the teams around her feel like smiling. Your feedback also highlights how important it is to have a cancer specialist nurse as a point of contact when you have so much information and changes in your life. I am pleased that you felt comfort in having her only a phone call away to help sign post you to best supports for your needs.

Thankyou Again

Warm Regards

Jacqui Macnish

WACHS-SW Cancer Nurse coordinator ( Kim's Manager)
