"Stoma Nurses"

About: Community Nursing (Bass Coast Health)

(as a relative),

My partner has recently had bowel surgery which requires him having a stoma for a short while.  The nurse where his surgery was performed referred him to BCH Stoma Nurses for follow up if needed. Recently, we needed some advice and we were very fortunate to have stoma nurse Sarah attend our home.  Sarah is very knowledgeable, informative and so so helpful (and might I add, a lovely person) and has made my partner (and myself) feel totally as ease with the whole process which can be quite daunting.  Thankyou so much Sarah.  As a former BCH employee, I have always been in awe of the incredible work that all the nurses do, but even more so now that we have needed this service on a personal level.

Dear pageryk55,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience. Having a stoma can be challenging in so many ways and there is no doubt that Stoma Nurses can make such a positive difference when families are working out how to manage everything. I know that Sarah will be really pleased to read your lovely words.

I hope your husband is doing ok.

Kind Regards,

Jan
