Earlier this year, our son was diagnosed with cancer and it was like all our world started to close in around us. Our life that we were living was about to change for ever and it was not only us as a family that was impacted but our friends, family, co-workers, employers, people that we hadn't seen for a while. Living in Broome has been our home for the past 16 years and suddenly with a cancer diagnosis on the Wednesday, we were PATS to Perth on the Thursday and our incredible journey began and still continues. Without the supportive team of PATS Broome, we would not have had the support with flights that worked to fit in around the chemo. Now that we are now back in Broome, we attend Perth for chemo every fortnight which means that we depend on Broome PATS to arrange the flights so that we arrive in adequate time the day prior to avoid cancelled flights and then two days later we return to Broome. Nothing is ever too much trouble. Broome PATS is just a phone call away with that reassurance on the end of the phone, encouragement for the treatment that our son receives and they have become part of our extended family.
