Minor fall on the rocks at The Grotto in the Kimberley not far out of Wyndham.
Knee gashed open fairly badly but no bone damage, climbed back up the 140 steps to the car park, bit of first aid and drove to Wyndham Hospital.
Being weekend the hospital is closed up but medical staff respond to a buzzer on the door.
What a breath of fresh air.
First greeted by Di the Sister on duty, quick assessment, yep fill these out, on the bed.
Sister cleans up and disinfects the wound then Dr Jenny arrives, some concern over depth of the wound and irregular shape.
Applies 9 stitches, bandages it up, provides a couple of spare bandages, device to remove stitches, antibiotics in case and disinfectant.
I found the entire service was efficient and professional from, in my opinion, 2 of the most pleasant people you could ever meet.
A bonus was tips on travelling The Gibb and handy camp spots.
I should injure myself more often.
I also witnessed their care and concern for another patient that presented, again, I saw nothing but courtesy and respect.
Hats off to WA health and the staff at Wyndham. Good on you.
