"Positive Birth Experience"

About: Esperance Health Campus / Maternity care Positive Birth Program

(as the patient),

Thank you to the midwives, theatre team, Dr Aidan and Dr Jono for their outstanding care during my long labour which ended in an emergency c section. Each and every person involved showed me the highest level of care and respect, and I felt I was in the very best hands throughout the entire process. A special shoutout must go to the midwives who took care of me throughout my labour, Skye, Talor and Di, and during my stay, Immi, Kate and Sue. They were all so kind, professional, and easy to get along with. Nothing was ever too much trouble. I also have to thank WACHS and Skye for providing the Positive Birth course, which gave myself and my partner many invaluable tools in the lead up to and during my labour. The course, along with the compassion of the staff, allowed me to have a truly positive birth experience (despite nothing going to plan!). We feel so lucky to have such amazing health professionals in our small town. There's no place I'd rather give birth!

Dear warmjq56,

Thank you for taking the time to provide you birth experience on Care Opinion. I am pleased to read that the positive birth classes were able to provide you with the tools to navigate your long labour and emergency caesarean. Especially as things didn't go to plan.

It was wonderful to read that Skye was the facilitator of the AN classes you attended and was also involved in your birth. I will ensure that your kind words are passed onto her and her Esperance colleagues. They sound like an amazing team and I am certain they will be thankful for your feedback.

I wish you well with your parenting journey.

Dear Warmjq56

We are very thankful to have such a team that includes Dr Aiden, Dr Jono and midwifes Skye, Talor, Di, Immi, Kate and Sue. It gave us great joy in sharing your story with them. The local team continue to strive to ensuring the experience for families is positive even in instances, like you mentioned, when things don’t go to plan. The local midwifery team along with the management team have worked together to be part of the positive birthing course to support families in Esperance, as all could see the value this course provides to staff and families.

I thank you for taking the time to share your story and providing great feedback to the team, when I know that having a new baby in the house is such a joy but perhaps comes with sleepless nights. I hope you are looking after yourself and getting plenty of rest.

Kind regards

Margaret
