"My wife's care"

About: Myrtleford Hospital

(as a carer),

My wife is in her 80's and has very poor vision, restricted mobility and has been diagnosed with alzheimers disease and vascular dementia. She was admitted to hospital after a fall at home. She was treated with great care and compassion by the staff at the hospital, the nurses, doctor's and other workers, kitchen staff, cleaners and administration staff were very understanding of her health condition and she was more than satisfied with her treatment. She was very impressed by the attention by the student nurses. I visited the hospital regularly and could not fault the attitude of all I came in contact with and my wife's mental health does not allow her to give a reliable opinion on any experiences she would suggest to change to improve patient care

Dear sculptordw83,

Thank you so much for your kind feedback. I am glad to hear your wife received great care and compassion from all staff while an inpatient at Myrtleford hospital. Alzheimer's disease and vascular dementia are challenging conditions for everyone involved and I am glad we could meet your wife's needs and demonstrate understanding of her condition.

I will pass on your feedback to the staff.

Yours sincerely,

Lisa Townsend

Nurse Unit Manager
