"Oncology care for our Mum"

About: Prince of Wales Hospital / ASB 4N - Haematology and Oncology Ward

(as a relative),

Our Mum came to Prince of Wales (previously being treated through another Sydney hospital) for care at the end stages of her rare and aggressive cancer. The oncology team at the Prince of Wales provided Mum with with more integrative care and support in her first day than she has received in the prior 18 months. The nursing staff were not only ensuring that Mum was well looked after and pain free, they were on hand to answer any concerns and questions we had, of which there were many. Our Dad was at another Sydney hospital being treated for brain cancer complications. The Palliative care and nursing team at Prince of Wales went above and beyond to have our Dad transported across to see Mum so that we didn’t need to leave her and Dad could be there with us.

We never felt alone in this journey once we part of the Prince of Wales family. We will never forget what they did for Mum and our family, with our last few days with her being calm and pain free which has provided us with comfort during our intense grief.
