"How I got to where I was"

About: Lives Lived Well - Woolloongabba

(as a service user),

I’m a self confessed Meth addict. It’s more than a daily occurrence and it’s really a physical dependency. I knew about Lives Lived Well already, however being caught by police for a glass pipe, then going to court and doing a drug diversion phone call via LLW. This is when I was told about the Day patient Rehab. I’m not one for rehabs, people complaining about their issues .

But this is different!

I haven’t been to other rehab programs but I am currently in a Living without violence course with another provider and I found the differences are huge.

Lives Lived Well Buranda branch provided an open forum where you can easily ask questions for the information provided to you.

The class time actually goes really quickly .

Biscuits would be something I would add.

The staff have the knowledge and overall skills to be able to assist the people attending. I felt I always had a voice and on a couple of occasions when I needed a bit more help they would work with me at the end of the session.

The information is also provided in an easy to read and understandable manner suited for all levels of education.

Special praise I feel should be given to Courtney who really assisted me.

Dear ChaceX,

Thank you for sharing your journey and experience with Lives Lived Well. We appreciate your openness and honesty about your struggles with meth addiction and the physical dependency you faced. It takes courage to confront these challenges and seek help.

It's understandable that you had reservations about rehab programs, especially when you mentioned people complaining about their issues. However, it's great to hear that your experience with Lives Lived Well's Day Program was different. The open format seems like it provided a supportive environment where you felt comfortable asking questions and receiving valuable information.

We appreciate your suggestion about adding biscuits to enhance the experience. It's often the small details that can contribute to a sense of comfort during sessions, and your input is valuable for program improvement.

It's wonderful to hear that the staff at Lives Lived Well, particularly Courtney, played a significant role in assisting you on your journey. Their knowledge, skills, and willingness to listen and help are vital in creating a supportive and effective environment for recovery. We will make sure to pass along your special praise to Courtney for her support.

Thank you for sharing your experience and highlighting the positive aspects of the Lives Lived Well program. We wish you continued success in your recovery journey, and we hope that your story inspires others to seek help and support.

Take care, and remember that you are not alone in this journey.

Sincerely,

Craig

Update posted by ChaceX (a service user)

I have come along to the after day rehab course ongoing sessions once per week.

I felt the recent session was interesting and I can see this being useful to maintain an ongoing link to support.
