About: St John Ambulance WA Wyndham Hospital / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

Damaged my shoulder whilst on the Lyne river. Husband contacted WA Rescue with our Sat phone, Wyndham Marine Rescue picked me up from our yacht to go to Wyndham hospital.

Skipper (sorry, didn't hear your name), Steve (crew) and Simon (St John's Ambulance paramedic) offered their compassionate and professional assistance to my husband, and to get me into their boat, heading for the long ride to Wyndham.

Nurse Di and Doctor David provided me with the medical care needed as I was in a lot of pain (proximal humerus fracture). The care, compassion, reassurance and comfort I received was above and beyond what I have ever experienced. I felt valued and safe, confident that I was in good hands and relaxed.

I am forever so grateful for the kindness of all that helped my husband and I: WA rescue, Wyndham Marine Rescue, nurse Di, Doctor David, orderly Trevor, courier driver Scott, nurse Val (on my last visit to hospital). A special thanks to Di who continued to support me as an outpatient when I needed help.

Dear Pattie,

Thanks for your response. I keep telling all my friends and family about the excellent care I received in Wyndham 6 weeks ago now! Proximal humerus fracture improving well:) Just a few more weeks to go ready for Christmas! Warmest regards to you and your team.
