"Emergency care at Geraldton Regional Hospital"

About: Geraldton Hospital / Emergency Department

(as a relative),

I took my 93yo grandmother, to ED recently after she had had a fall at home -she suffered significant facial trauma. The Triage nurse was busy but called Coordinator to triage my grandmother as she could see she was distressed.

The ED was busy but my grandmother was triaged quickly and a space found in the full department to treat her. She was treated with kindness and respect by all clinical staff throughout her journey through ED. My grandmother was lucky enough to see Dr S very quickly. He took his time suturing deep and challenging facial lacerations to ensure a good cosmetic result. my grandmother is a very proud lady and this was important to her.  We all appreciate the attention to detail with her imaging, multiple dressings and scans. My grandmother was admitted and remains an inpatient.

Thank you to all the staff involved in her care, sorry I didn't get names, we were all a bit shocked. Thank you to everyone involved in my grandmother's care, much appreciated!

Dear hekady37

Thank you for sharing your kind words with us on Care Opinion

We always appreciate receiving feedback from a family member who has been impressed by the care provided to a loved one. The kindness and respect you described is exactly what we are striving for at Geraldton Regional Hospital and it is great to have confirmed we achieved this in your grandmother’s case. I will be very pleased to share this with all the departments involved and have their staff acknowledged for their great efforts.

I do hope your grandmother is continuing to recover and again thank you for reaching out to us.

Regards

Didi Bower
