A few months ago I had my first miscarriage. This was extremely unexpected after having a beautiful healthy pregnancy with my son two years ago and felt quite unprepared for the grief that followed. After having a d&c at King Edward Memorial Hospital, I later found out I’d had a partial molar pregnancy.
The Western Australian Trophoblastic Centre were very prompt in following me up when this came to light, and provided me with very thorough service and support.
They helped explain the complexities of a molar pregnancy in simple terms, and helped me navigate my way through the necessary processes to follow. Marion was the nurse I had the most contact with and she was extremely helpful. She organised all the necessary referrals and made things as easy as possible for me. She provided regular updates on my blood work and sent me reminders when I was due for an upcoming test which was much appreciated.
All the staff I engaged with at the Western Australian Trophoblastic Centre showed a genuine concern for my health both physically and emotionally, and will always be grateful for their support.
I hope this service remains available to women in my position for years to come.
