"UTI antibiotics"

About: GPs in the Perth Electoral District

(as the patient),

Had an appointment for a severe UTI. I was passing blood and in severe pain. As a nurse I know best practice is antibiotics and was unable to get in to my regular GP till the following week. I booked a health appointment with Hola Health and explained I had a UTI 2 days earlier and was now passing blood and requested a script for antibiotics. The doctor flat out refused and told me to drink more water, have the week off work and be close to a toilet. Later than evening when pain escalated, I presented to an urgent care GP and was diagnosed with Pylonephritis. My urine test showed off the chart blood and leukocytes. I was told had I waited any longer for antibiotics I would have suffered kidney injury.

I promptly sent Hola an email and they replied saying treatment is at the doctors discretion.

My appointment cost $35 and I was refused a refund. I ended up paying $100 to attend urgent care.

I felt like I was just a paycheck for the Telehealth doctor. I ended the call feeling uncared for and still in pain.
