I gave birth to my son recently at BRH. During my pregnancy I was cared for in the MGP program at Margaret River Hospital. We had such amazing care antenatally which really positively impacted my experience. I had an anterior placenta which meant I was often unable to feel baby’s movements. This was a source of high anxiety for me due to previous pregnancy losses. Throughout my pregnancy I was able to contact MGP staff Melony & Vanessa and be reassured and assessed. I was never made to feel silly or like I was wasting anyone’s time. The staff I saw were so kind and so personable and made me feel confident throughout.
I had access to the WACHS hypnobirthing program which empowered me and instilled confidence and excitement for birth. I commenced labour informed and confident with the help of MGP and this program
Due to birth complications we were transferred to Bunbury from Margaret River Hospital. My obstetrician Dr W & MGP midwife Melony coordinated a safe transfer to expert care in Bunbury Regional. From what started as a bit of a traumatic experience for my partner and I ended in such a positive outcome and memory we will treasure forever.
Since birth MGP has followed up and completed home visit health assessments for myself and baby. Such a fantastic service
We couldn’t be more thankful for the MGP program and our wonderful Obstetrician for keeping us safe and coordinating expert care. We will remember it forever and are so grateful to be home with our healthy baby, dream come true.
