My spouse had had a persistently terrible hacking cough for 4 weeks. One night it was so bad that the pains in their ribs and chest and stomach were so bad that they attended the urgent care department at Stawell Hospital.
On explaining their condition it was suggested that they take panadol and ibuprofen, which my spouse told them they'd already done.
My spouse was told that for any further pain management they would have to travel to Horsham or Ballarat hospitals as the Stawell hospital was unable to assist with this! It's a hospital that seemingly cannot offer anything for pain other than over the counter drugs available in most homes! Unbelieveable in my opinion.
"Pain management...or lack thereof"
