My child recently ran out of their ADHD medication, they had no repeats left so made an appointment with the doctor. The doctor told me that they had not received my child's script from the paediatrician and the doctor could not do anything until they got the script from the paediatrician. The doctor sent a request to Allied Heath here in Geraldton and also gave myself a copy to take to allied health which I did.
I arrived at allied health and the staff member behind the counter looked up my child's records and found the script on file but had not been signed by the paediatrician which was issued 6 months ago, the receptionist said that they would get it signed and sent to our doctor by the following day. At the time of writing this, it has been 3 days and the script is till not signed as it seems the paediatrician is on leave, I have then been told by the receptionist that they have forward to the other doctors to look at the case when they get around to it, or it will have to wait until my child's next appointment which will be nearly 3 weeks without their medication,
I’m absolutely appalled by the treatment we have been given by allied health for something that I believe is as simple as signing a bit of paper, I feel it's a 5 second act.
