"My day procedure visit"

About: Kyneton Hospital / Perioperative Services

(as the patient),

I arrived in the morning for a Colonoscopy.  I was greeted with a big smile from the Receptionist who kindly advised me to conduct a RAT test then take a seat. I was soon greeted by another lovely Staff member who introduced herself and took me through to a room to check me in. After paperwork signed and explained she walked me out to another waiting area.

Soon another lovely staff member greeted me, introduced herself and took my blood pressure etc. I was then taken through to the Day Ward. Greeted again with warm smiles and humour. All of the staff I saw wore name badges which helped with remembering their names. I was made to feel comfortable and informed of what was happening at all times. The Doctor & Anethetist came and chatted to me and I was made to feel safe and cared for.

After my procedure I was gently woken up and reassured all went well. I was offered a lovely cup of tea, fresh sandwiches, fruitcake, cheese & bickies. Staff phoned my husband to come and collect me when I was ready. The whole experience of a 'not so pleasant' procedure was made as least stressful as possible. I cannot praise the staff enough!!! Many thanks!
