(as a relative),

I attended an appointment for my mother with her husband and my sister at the cancer outpatient service recently and was so heartened by the respectful and kind service we all experienced . I felt our doctor , Wade, was exceptional in his treatment of my mother. He didn't rush her, he let her tell her story in her own way , he welcomed and remembered all our names and encouraged us to ask questions. Similarly his consultant colleague was equally as considerate ( I can't remember her name). They explained treatment options in a way that was accessible to all of us. I would like to commend them for their excellent care and kindness, it made all the difference on a difficult day.

Thank you so much for taking the time to get in touch and share your story about the excellent service and support your mother received during an outpatient appointment in the Cancer Centre at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital (SCGH).

I appreciate that these types of conversations are never easy, so it was heart-warming to read of the exceptional care, patience and kindness shown during these discussions.

We are very privileged to have such highly skilled and dedicated staff working at the cancer centre and we are very grateful that you have taken the time and effort to acknowledge Dr Wade and the consultant.
