I was taken by ambulance to the emergency department due to clusters of seizures. The paramedics that took me there were amazing and helped me to get a bed fairly quickly. However,
I felt I was made to feel like a burden by my main doctor who claimed to know me well despite the fact that I had never seen them in my life.
The other doctors and nurses who weren’t directly looking after me were extremely sweet and made sure I was comfortable which made the stay a little more welcoming and worthwhile. They were also quick to give me medication when I complained of nausea and pain. Furthermore, I received excellent care from the doctors who looked after me whilst having a severe mouth-foaming seizure and they treated it seriously which was really validating.
Although, I was discharged at night with no answers or instructions on what to do for my seizures, I was told by the sweet nurses and doctors that if I was in doubt, I could come back to the hospital at any time in the future.
