"My experience in Day Surgery"

About: Bunbury Hospital / Surgical Ward

(as a service user),

I was greeted by many happy wonderful staff members, Fran and nurses dear Sally and especially Phoebe and Delaney after surgery they were excellent!👍🏼 Phoebe was on a double shift that night a gorgeous compassionate young lady in my opinion. A nice nurse Louise (Lou) was extremely helpful to me on the next day as well 🙏🏼Thank you and Michelle, Ahmed, Beven and Registrars Josh & Tim were great too and a student male nurse also. Once I had passed enough wee etc. and the gas & wind seemed to be moving and I had stopped vomiting they sent me home. With some great instructions with pain & nausea medication.

I think I was sent home too early😔 & No gas ez was offered (degas) or other laxative treatments for cleanse.

But because of the anesthetic the gas pain in my abdomen and my bowels didn’t work for 5 days!

🙏🏼 Based on my experience, please keep people in longer than overnight for major keyhole surgery.

I realise you are very busy & need the beds but this was very traumatic and I feel could have be more serious for someone else.

Then my partner needed to take me to another Hospital for an X-ray & enema to relieve the pressure & extremely excruciating pain. I felt they were excellent!
