I was transferred from a rural hospital to Bunbury hospital for further care as my gall bladder had failed.
I then went in and got surgery it was a quick process looking back at it now.
I then got the surgery and was put back in day surgery ward.. then that’s when it started getting bad… I then asked for a heat pack; I got a heated up blanket, I then asked the other nurse if they could get me a heat pack for my shoulder.. it seemed they then went to the other nurse and I recall the other nurse said to the other one that they already got me a heat pack what else do I want! I thought that was very rude! (I had recently got shoulder surgery. I was fully aware that the doctors blow you up with gas so it was going to hurt your shoulder I was fuller aware of that, but I had it in my right shoulder and maybe an hr in my left)
I had been home for almost 3 days and was still getting that pain in my right shoulder it is worse then when I went into hospital!
I then was getting discharged and I had asked for the Canula to be taken out before I go home, I recall the nurse then said in front of my family and my partner, oh yeah better take that out before I go back home and shoot up.
My response was ‘excuse me’ and I walked out
I was very offended by that comment and it effected me horribly.
