During some of the most intense and difficult times our family received comfort and reassurance from the ward clerks on Ward 5A. We were greeted with smiles and offers of assistance. As we were walked to the Pod they were caring and able to tell when we needed support or when we needed a laugh. I felt the intuition and wisdom of these amazing ladies was so appreciated. Sometimes you need a little light humour to put you in the right frame of mind to visit your very unwell child. Sometimes you need someone to just listen. I felt they were very respectful and their ability to just know what we needed was uncanny. I feel they always go above and beyond to not only greet people but they make the boring tasks like paperwork much easier. I noticed they are also amazing at remembering names and faces as well as the little things shared during what can be brief conversations. Plus, I feel they show kindness and consideration to the young person.
We recently found out that Sarah is leaving to get married. Whilst we congratulate her and wish her well, I feel she leaves massive shoes to fill.
We were also told that Jenny has been offered a position elsewhere. Obviously we are happy for her, however I feel it would be a huge loss to the ward.
I believe one person can make a huge impact on how an admission to that ward goes. I feel Jenny makes that impact. Her phone manner is friendly and respectful. She responds to every request in a timely fashion.
