"Amazing care in Emergency Department"

About: Royal Perth Hospital / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

I attended RPH ED with breathing difficulties and chest tightness. I felt so anxious and embarrassed and was immediately reassured by Trav at Triage, and Vanessa as well as Dr Nathan in RADA. My pain was immediately treated and investigated and I was kept informed the entire time.

I felt I was treated with such kindness and respect and was absolutely blown away with how compassionate, knowledgeable and kind the ED staff that I saw were. I believe the doctors and nurses in ED are an asset to the hospital and work so hard to delivery high quality care to patients in often very challenging circumstances.

Thank you so much for your care. It is so appreciated.

Dear triangulumhd54

I was sorry to hear of your recent health episode that led to your attendance at the Royal Perth Hospital Emergency Department (RPH ED). This must have been a very stressful time for you.

However, it was lovely to hear of the exemplary care you received from the medical and nursing team who treated you with such compassion, kindness and respect. Communication is so important, and it was refreshing to read that you felt assured that you were in the best hands. The differences our staff make in the lives of patients and community through their acts of warmth and demonstrated compassionate care cannot be underestimated. I will take great delight in sharing your words of appreciation with those involved in your care.

This reassures me that the staff at RPH are continually striving to provide high quality, patient centred care. I feel very fortunate to work with such dedicated and exceptional staff and am reminded of this when I read stories like yours on Care Opinion.

Thank you for taking the time to share your story and I wish you all the best with your recovery.

Kind regards

Ben Noteboom

A/Executive Director
